The Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership is pleased to announce the hiring of Col. Jeffrey Mikesell, USAF (Ret.), as its new Senior Military Liaison, a role designed to support Offutt Air Force Base and enhance the development of defense-related business in Greater Omaha.

Prior to joining the Partnership, Mikesell amassed more than three decades of active duty military and civilian operations experience, most recently as a program manager with Joint Strategic Solutions, a consultancy that supports United States Strategic Command clients.

During his 24-year military career, Mikesell compiled more than 4,000 flying hours, including 465 hours of combat time, as an EC-135 and B-1B instructor pilot. Between 2003 and 2005, he led more than 700 personnel on combat deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Mikesell retired from the Air Force at the rank of Colonel in 2010. Among numerous awards and decorations, he received the Legion of Merit for “exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements.”

Mikesell received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Missouri and holds three Master’s Degrees in the areas of Aeronautic Science, Military Operational Art & Science, and Strategic Studies. An active volunteer with the Omaha-area Salvation Army, he also served as a United Way Executive Committee Member from 2007-2013.
