CEO of Child Saving Institute Peg Harriott Announces Retirement for Fall 2021

Child Saving Institute (CSI, www.childsaving.org) announces the planned retirement of president and CEO Peg Harriott, effective October 2021. While Ms. Harriott’s departure is slated for October, the exact timing will become more specific as a new president and CEO is identified and available. The CSI board of directors has created a transition team and the process of identifying a new leader is underway.

Ms. Harriott states, “My commitment to the board of directors, the agency’s dedicated staff, the Omaha community, and the children and families who rely on CSI’s serve is my foremost priority.”
Since May of 2008, when Ms. Harriott assumed the role of president and CEO, the number of children and families served has increased from 1,500 to 2,500 annually, the number of staff has nearly doubled, and the annual budget grew from $5.8 to $10.2 million. During the same period, the number of children and youth who receive mental services has more than tripled.

For 13 years, Ms. Harriott positively influenced the lives of children, families, and staff through robust programmatic skills and exemplary business acumen. A true advocate of children and families, CSI is deeply proud of the advancements made during Ms. Harriott’s stalwart leadership. Ms. Harriott carried forth the agency’s focus to prevent, intervene on and heal child abuse, neglect, and trauma.
