The Alzheimer’s Association Midlands Chapter named Viv L. Ewing, Ph.D. as the new President and CEO on April 1, 2013. In this role, Ewing will lead the growth of the Midlands Chapter covering 10 counties in Nebraska and five counties in Iowa.

The Alzheimer’s Association Midlands Chapter provides education, information, and support for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias in northeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa. Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Omaha with an office in Council Bluffs, IA; the organization is part of the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. The mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. The Alzheimer’s Association offers professional training and CEUs, certification in Alzheimer’s care, resource information, advocacy, and support services for individuals, families and caretakers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
