Omaha Fashion Week Presents Upcoming Magis Season August 25-27
Omaha Fashion Week (omahafashionweek.com) is thrilled to be returning to the runway with another season of fashion and glamor August 25-27 at the Omaha Design Center! The theme for the week is Magis, which means “Excellence for the Greater Good.” Omaha Fashion Week’s mission celebrates fashion-for-good giving back to the community. One way this comes to fruition is by profits being shared with designers and local creatives in the form of prize packages at the end of the season. This inspiring designer lineup is ready to showcase their collections focused on sustainable practices, community collaboration, and grandeur.
This fall, there will be 32 designers across three nights of designer showcases. Omaha Fashion Week will have a wide variety of designers from inside and outside the state of Nebraska, including students and returning designers with a variety of collections, from daywear to evening, and avant-garde to streetwear. A stellar lineup of headlining designers will showcase during the week, including winners from the Fall 2021 Season: Lauren Bander and Nuevintage. Expect the unexpected this season with an extraordinary showcase from a Chicago-based fashion designer, Borris Powell, who will be showcasing his collection “Qu Ee n’s Kourt” in Omaha at a secret location. Support local designers by attending a shopping experience unlike any other after the week of showcases.
Kicking off the week on Thursday with “Audere: To Boldly Shine Like Gold” which is what we are all craving after two years of living the pandemic lifestyle. Designs will focus on making a statement and demanding attention with bold, unique silhouettes. This inspiring lineup of Emerging and Featured Designers will also feature work from Omaha Fashion Campers who will participate in Omaha’s most fashionable camp for kids this summer.
Vivere, the Friday Emerging Designer Showcase, means “To Live Again.” Friday night’s lineup of Emerging Designers will be presenting collections focused on bringing new life to old textiles, upcycling techniques, and throwback silhouettes. Attendees will see the old made new again as designers who are just starting in the industry give new life and a modern take to familiar styles.
A night of Splendere will bring “All Grand, Magnificent, And Brilliant Things” to the runway. Saturday’s lineup of Featured Designers will be presenting collections that are over-the-top in one way or another. From bustling trains in bridal collections to avant-garde styles with a modern twist, the runway is sure to be filled with magnificent designs.
