Youth Mart at Omaha Home for Boys Aids Over 200 Young Adults in 2018

Omaha Home for Boys (OmahaHomeForBoys.org) is pleased to announce that the Youth Mart donation center aided over 200 young adults in 2018. When young adults are facing the transition from foster care to independent living without the needed network of supports in place, they know where to turn: Youth Mart. Youth Mart collects and redistributes critically needed items to young adults who are working toward setting up their own independent living environment.

Youth Mart serves young men and women from Omaha Home for Boys, as well as youth from eight other Omaha area agencies. Youth Mart fills a critical need in the community by helping ease the transition to independent living for young adults who face this pivotal change with a limited support system and few resources.

Young adults are allowed to shop free of charge at Youth Mart for hygiene products, cleaning supplies, household and kitchen wares, small appliances, and even clothing, furniture, and baby essentials. The shelves at Youth Mart are stocked by individuals and businesses who generously donate new and gently used items.

Some of the most requested items at Youth Mart include undergarments for young men and women, laundry detergent, brooms and dustpans, and cookware and flatware. To donate, please call Youth Mart at (402) 457-7002 to schedule a drop-off or pick-up time, or find Youth Mart’s Wish List on Amazon.
