Youth Emergency Services (YES) (yesomaha.org) is thrilled to announce its annual Dance for a Chance fundraiser, “50 Years of YES,” is taking place on Thursday, October 17, at The Astro in La Vista. This annual fundraiser sees dynamic members of the Omaha community paired with dance instructors to compete through carefully crafted dance routines. Meanwhile, these community members raise awareness and funds for Youth Emergency Services among their personal and professional networks.

The 2024 Dance for a Chance dancer lineup includes:

  • Angel Carl, Angel Carl Marketing / YES Board of Trustees
  • Elie Dancour, NeuroInterventional Concepts
  • Arnold Gantuangco, Lindsay Corporation / Tropical Salsa Nights – Omaha
  • John Jensen, Union Pacific Railroad / YES Board of Directors
  • Taylor Johnson, WOWT
  • Ralph Kellogg, Lutheran Family Services
  • Susan Koenig, Koenig | Dunne
  • Jackie Lane, Omaha Children’s Museum
  • Nancy Williams, Block 27 Consulting, LLC

2024 marks Youth Emergency Services’ 50th anniversary, inspiring the fundraiser’s theme “50 Years of YES.” Dancers and instructors will incorporate music, dance moves and costumes into their performances from one of six historical decades—1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s. Attendees are also invited and encouraged to dress in trends from the past.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., followed by the first dance of the evening at 7 p.m. Attendees will enjoy an evening of well-choreographed competition, tasty treats, a silent auction and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people in need.
