Youth Emergency Services (YES) (yesomaha.org/youth-resources) is proud to partner with Rotella’s Italian Bakery and Hiland Dairy in Omaha to provide youth with fresh grocery staples. As part of its mission to provide housing and support to youth experiencing instability, crisis and homelessness, YES strives to help young people meet their basic needs—including food security. With these new partnerships, YES can continue to combat food insecurity.

Rotella’s has committed to donating up to 30 loaves of bread and/or pastries to YES’ Street Outreach Center every week. Meanwhile, Hiland Dairy has committed to donating more than 30 gallons of milk every week and 30 cartons of a dozen eggs.

Every week, a member of YES’ staff will collect donations from Rotella’s and Hiland before bringing them to the organization’s Street Outreach Center, located at 2602 Harney St. There, youth visiting the Center can take home weekly groceries—now including bread, milk and eggs—to ensure their food needs are met. The Outreach Center also provides young people with the opportunities to meet basic needs like enjoying a warm meal, taking a hot shower and finding additional community resources.

The entire staff at YES could not be more grateful for their partnerships with Rotella’s and Hiland. With these generous donations, the nonprofit organization can continue to combat food insecurity among our youth.
