The YMCA of Greater Omaha (metroymca.org) is proud to announce the receipt of a $20,000 Impact Grant from FNBO to bolster its Quality Childcare for Working Parents initiative at the YMCA Early Learning Centers across the Omaha metro area. This crucial funding comes at a time when Nebraska is facing a childcare crisis that affects families, businesses and the state’s economy.
With demand for affordable, high-quality childcare far outpacing supply, many parents are forced to make difficult choices regarding employment. FNBO’s generous grant will enable the YMCA to continue providing much-needed services, helping working families access reliable and enriching childcare that allows them to remain in the workforce. The funding will support the YMCA’s sliding-scale fee structure, which makes childcare more affordable for families who would otherwise struggle to meet the high costs of care.
“Our Early Learning Centers are a vital resource for local families, preparing children for future success and allowing parents to work with peace of mind,” said Rebecca Deterding, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Omaha. “This funding from FNBO will have a lasting impact on working parents and their children.”
