The YMCA of Greater Omaha (metroymca.org) announced the success of its recent community food drive, resulting in a donation of 9,756 pounds of food to Food Bank for the Heartland.

Contributions were collected across 13 YMCA branches and four early learning centers, showcasing the organization’s commitment to strengthening community through compassion and service.

The donation was made possible through the generosity of YMCA members, SilverSneakers participants, dedicated staff, and families involved in the Y’s homeschool programs. Their collective efforts ensured that families in need across the region will have increased access to nutritious meals.

The YMCA extended its sincere appreciation to Arrow Towing Omaha for providing transportation assistance to deliver the collected goods safely and efficiently to Food Bank for the Heartland. This initiative reflects the YMCA’s ongoing mission to create a healthier, more supportive community for all. Through collaborative efforts like this food drive, the YMCA continues to demonstrate that stronger communities are built together.
