Year-End Giving to Outlook Enrichment will Fund Youth and Adult Programs

As 2021 comes to a close, Outlook Enrichment (outlooken.org), a nonprofit providing resources and support to those with vision loss so they can remain independent, asks the community to consider their organization during year-end giving. These funds will go to a variety of programs, including adult rehabilitation services, which help those with vision loss to complete daily tasks like reading a newspaper, getting groceries, or navigating the internet. These services give people the knowledge and confidence to pursue their personal and professional goals.

Funds also go towards independent living programming, which provide instruction in adaptive techniques for preparing and storing food, home safety, labeling, cooking, personal budgeting, and other problem-solving skills. Another form of programming offered by Outlook Enrichment is adaptive technology training to teach people with limited vision how to use computers, smartphones, and other devices to become more independent and self-sufficient.

Vision changes can impact an individual’s overall emotional and physical wellness. A person struggling with vision loss might withdraw from social engagements, stop participating in community activities, or ask a loved one to complete more tasks for them. This decline in activity can result in isolation, depression, and loneliness.

Because of community support, Outlook Enrichment helps all individuals adjust to vision loss through training, education, and support. The nonprofit offers across the lifespan programming to replace the isolation with strong relationships and meaningful activities. To learn more or make a donation, go to outlooken.org/donate.
