Building on recent digital developments in charitable giving, Woodmen of the World has put its own spin on the micro-philanthropy movement and created RedBasket.org, a website dedicated to connecting individuals who need help with those who can give it.  RedBasket.org allows individuals to donate time or money to people or projects that need help. The website features stories of individuals who need financial support due to an accident, or illness, or who need assistance in rebuilding after a natural disaster or act of nature.

Woodmen of the World provides funding for Red Basket’s administrative fees, so 100 percent of donations go to the individual or project chosen. Donors can follow the story to see how their money is put to use and the donation is tax deductible, to the extent allowed by law. Individuals who choose to donate on the website can share a link to their chosen cause on Facebook, Twitter, or via email. By sharing the story, others can pitch in and help support the cause.

If you know someone who is starting a grassroots community improvement project, or who is going through a medical crisis or suffered a loss in a natural disaster, accident or act of nature, contact Red Basket at http://RedBasket.org/ ask to find out how their story can be featured on the website.

Red Basket, Inc., founded in 2012, is a web-based, non-profit 501(c)3 micro-philanthropy corporation headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.

Please visit the website for more information, or to create an account to receive notifications of upcoming feature releases and state rollout plans.
