Volunteer Opportunities Available at HETRA, Prospective Volunteer Tour April 7
Heartland Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy (HETRA, hetra.org) in Gretna would like the community to know of volunteer opportunities available within their organization. Currently serving over 150 participants a week, volunteers are the heart of HETRA. Without them, HETRA cannot accomplish their mission to improve the quality of life both physically and emotionally for adults and children of all ability levels through equine-assisted activities. Every hour donated makes a difference in the lives of their participants. Those who are interested in volunteering are invited to attend a prospective volunteer tour on Thursday, April 7; to sign up for the tour, visit HETRA.org/Volunteer or call (402) 359-8830. If you can’t make this date, volunteer tours typically occur every second Thursday of the month.
While HETRA does not require any previous experience, volunteers must be 12 years or older and must be able to work independently with minimal staff supervision. Whether you have years of horse experience or none, the dedicated HETRA staff will train you on what you need to know to serve their beloved participants effectively. They currently need additional greeters, session volunteers, and barn maintenance helpers.
