United Way of the Midlands (UWM) (unitedwaymidlands.org) was excited to welcome more than 150 local business leaders and community members to their offices when they hosted the Greater Omaha Chamber’s Coffee & Contacts event on Tuesday, Jan. 13. The ‘sold out’ before-the workday-begins event was a great way for individuals to kick off 2026 with new connections, new learnings and new information on how to engage in the Omaha-metro community.
During the event, attendees enjoyed coffee, hot chocolate and pastries while networking, building visibility and creating new relationships. Through conversations with staff and tours of the office, attendees explored how UWM supports a network of more than 150 nonprofit programs, offers direct services like 211 and JAG Nebraska and creates easy ways for individuals, employees and organizations to give back and get involved.
“We were honored to join together with the Greater Omaha Chamber to host this energizing event that’s all about connecting and creating community,” said Shawna Forsberg, president and CEO, United Way of the Midlands. “Heath Mello and the Chamber team are great partners with United Way, and we loved having the opportunity to showcase the impact we’re making together in the metro and to invite people to be part of something bigger.”
Rooted in partnership and deep understanding of the issues, United Way makes it easy to engage and take meaningful action in our community. To learn more about how to get involved, visit UnitedWayMidlands.org.
