On Friday, October 25, United Way of the Midlands (UWM) (UnitedWayMidlands.org) held its 2024 Annual Meeting at the CHI Health Center with nearly 600 individuals representing local businesses and nonprofit agencies in attendance.
During the event, UWM shared the significant impact donor investments and volunteer efforts are making in the community – and recognized corporate partners and individuals who have gone above and beyond to support UWM’s work in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro.
Nine area organizations including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska, Bellevue University, WP Engine, Tenaska, Holmes Murphy, Lindsay Corporation, QuikTrip, Pacific Life and Physicians Mutual were recognized for their generous support during the 2023-24 campaign with Campaign Partner Awards – and Tim and Terri Burke were honored as United Way of the Midlands’ 2024 Citizens of the Year.
“Our Annual Meeting is the perfect setting to celebrate the many organizations and individuals who are supporting our community, helping those who need it most and building a stronger tomorrow for the metro,” said Shawna Forsberg, president and CEO, United Way of the Midlands. “We are truly grateful for the caring spirit that runs deep in our community, and it’s our honor to recognize those who make a difference for thousands of people in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro every day.”
