United Way of the Midlands Awards $25K to Youth Emergency Services
Youth Emergency Services (YES) (www.yesomaha.org) is pleased to announce it was recently awarded a $25,000 grant from United Way of the Midlands.
Thanks to the generosity of the United Way donors, an additional 30 youth will receive employment skills through the YES Job Readiness Program. The program will assist the youth with gaining and retaining employment to become self-sufficient which will decrease homelessness.
With the help of this grant, the Job Readiness Program provides employment skills to homeless and near homeless youth ages 16–21 to increase self-sufficiency through employment and education. The six-week program provides an assessment, learning opportunities, educational fieldtrips, activities and group work in a familiar, safe environment. Employers from the community will share their expertise with the youth.
