The Set Me Free Project to Host Comedy for Change Event at A View On State
The Set Me Free Project (www.setmefreeproject.net) will host a Comedy for Change event on Thursday, March 7 from 6–9 p.m. at A View On State (13467 State St.). Join in on an evening of comedy, food, and fun! There will be a dinner and a live auction where all funds raised will go to help change the lives of youth and families in the community who have been affected by the darkness that is sex trafficking. Tickets can be purchased through their Facebook page or website.
The Set Me Free Project is unique because they don’t just bring awareness to sex trafficking, they bring education. Their educators empower each audience member to protect themselves and others from traffickers. Educators show students how and why they are at risk, and teach them ways to protect themselves. The Set Me Free Project’s curriculum reaches students (grades 3–12), educators, parents, and leaders in every facet of the community.
Additionally, The Set Me Free Project has announced openings for part- and full-time educators. Other positions are available through the AmeriCorps VISTA and include data analysis and a volunteer coordinator. Interested individuals are encouraged to reach out to info@setmefreeproject.net or (402) 521-3080 or apply at setmefreeproject.net/join-our-team. Find them on Facebook at (@setmefreeproject).
