The Salvation Army Launches Ringer Rewards for Red Kettle Bell Ringers

The Salvation Army (www.salarmyomaha.org) depends on volunteer bell ringers to help raise the funds necessary to support its human services programs all year long. Half of The Salvation Army’s total annual revenue is raised in just three months—from October through December.

Ringing bells at the iconic red kettles during the holiday season to help raise funds for people in need is reward enough, but this year The Salvation Army will offer Ringer Rewards as a little extra incentive to sweeten the deal.

For each completed two-hour bell-ringing shift, volunteers will automatically be entered into a Ringer Rewards drawing for a chance to win a prize sponsored by a local business, retail store, or restaurant. Winners will be announced on December 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 15, 22, and 29. Prizes include:

• Gift cards and gift baskets from Hy-Vee, Baker’s, Family Fare, Fareway, Hobby Lobby, Walmart, Genesis Health, and The Salvation Army Kroc Center
• Gifts from Nebraska Furniture Mart and Borsheims
• Restaurant gift cards (to be announced later)

Anyone interested in volunteering to ring bells for The Salvation Army this holiday season (through Christmas Eve) can register for one or more two-hour shifts at registertoring.com.
