Ted E. Bear Hollow Presents First Place Food Feud – Best vs. Best

In the U.S., approximately 1 in 7 children experience the death of a parent or sibling before age 20. Our community is all too familiar with such tragedies. Ted E. Bear Hollow (www.tedebearhollow.org) is proud to serve these kids, their families and other grieving adults through free support groups, day camps, and overnight retreats.

Ted E. Bear Hollow’s Annual Comfort Food Classic, set for Sunday October 9th at 5 p.m., is a foodie event with heart. All proceeds from this annual chef competition support the agency’s free grief support services in Omaha, Council Bluffs and the surrounding communities. This year is the 10th anniversary of the Comfort Food Classic, and a very special evening is being planned. Six past winners will return to recreate their winning cuisine and compete for the title “Best of the Best”. The food is not to be missed, and neither is our return host, the ever entertaining local comedian, Kris Covi. Guests will get to sample and judge the creations from six of the area’s top chefs. Judging categories include presentation, creativity, and taste. Guests will also enjoy free beer, wine, appetizers, and desserts and may participate in a silent auction. This year’s auction will once again feature electronic bidding.
