In what’s stacking up to be a remarkable 20th year impacting breast cancer research and Nebraska breast health programs, Susan G. Komen Nebraska has recently opened registration for its two Komen Race for the Cure events. Interested persons can register at www.komennebraska.org for both the Komen Central Nebraska Race for the Cure, September 28th in Kearney (UNK Campus Kearney), and the Komen Nebraska Race for the Cure®, October 6th in Omaha (CenturyLink Center).

Registration is open to anyone interested in helping in the fight against breast cancer. Participants can join in a 5k run, 5k walk or 1-mile family fun walk, individually or as a team. Breast cancer survivors can participate in all Race Day activities at no charge, but they are still required to register.

Susan G. Komen Nebraska is part of the 120-affiliate Komen network, the world’s largest and most progressive grassroots network fighting to end breast cancer forever. Since 1994, Komen Nebraska his distributed up to 75 percent of the net proceeds of funds raised — nearly $7 million — to statewide organizations that provide breast cancer education, screening, and treatment.
