A kick-off gathering for the 37th Annual Archbishop’s Dinner for Education was held on April 28 in preparation for the dinner planned for September 25 at Embassy Suites in La Vista.  The annual dinner honors elementary and secondary school teachers and administrators for their outstanding commitment and service to Archdiocese of Omaha Catholic schools.  Dinner proceeds provide scholarships for families in need, and are matched by the Children’s Scholarship Fund of New York.

2014 Dinner Chairpersons are Julie and Steve Kenney, Co-Chairpersons are Janet and Tom Nichting, Honorary Chairpersons are Barb and Bill Fitzgerald, and Advisors are Kathy and Greg Boulay.

The honorees for the 2014 Archbishop’s Dinner for Education are:

Administrators of the Year:  Kayleen Wallace, St. Joan of Arc School, Omaha; Terry Kathol, Cedar Catholic Jr./Sr. High School, Hartington.

Secondary Educators of the Year:  John Gathje, Mt. Michael Benedictine School, Elkhorn; Julie Blaser, Scotus Central Catholic Jr./Sr. High School, Columbus.

Elementary Educators of the Year:  Mary Holtmeyer, St. Pius X/St. Leo School, Omaha; Carol Korth, Holy Family School, Lindsay.

Educators of the Year – Special Education and Inner City:  Diane Cochran, Madonna School, Omaha; Miki Theiler, All Saints School, Omaha.
