The 14th annual St. James/Seton “SOAR” fundraiser will feature Heisman Trophy winner and Husker legend Johnny “The Jet” Rodgers as the keynote speaker on Friday, November 9 beginning at 6 p.m.  The dinner, presentation, silent and live auctions will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Center, 5419 North 114th St, in Omaha.

Rodgers was the first Nebraska Cornhusker to receive the coveted Heisman Trophy from the New York Downtown Athletic Club. The Omaha Technical High School graduate led the nation’s number one team to a national championship in 1971 as a punt returner, pass receiver, blocker and running back.

In 2012 Rodgers created the Johnny “The Jet” Rodgers National College Football Return Specialist Award.  The Johnny Rodgers Youth Foundation supports programs that keep children in school until high school graduation.

Proceeds from this event will go to help support St. James/Seton in assisting with funding for tuition assistance and to create a program to enhance and sustain the future goals of St. James/Seton School. The school relies solely on funds generated from its own fundraising, the parishioners, and the support of local businesses to achieve its mission.
