Sold-Out Midlands Community Foundation 2020 Golf Tourney Raised More than $45K

Midlands Community Foundation raised more than $45,000 through its 2020 golf tournament at Platteview Golf Club on Monday, August 17. The sold-out tournament was a tremendous success, with 150 golfers enjoying the beautiful weather and one of Omaha’s finest golf layouts, featuring mature oak and cottonwood trees, lakes, and gentle elevation changes. Proceeds from the tournament will support nonprofit organizations in Cass and Sarpy counties.

Through the generous support of tournament sponsors and participants—including Double Eagle Sponsors Citizens State Bank and Kuehl Capital—the proceeds will benefit Cass County CASA, Sarpy County CASA, Lift Up Sarpy, and the fire-and-rescue departments and districts in Avoca, Bellevue, Elmwood, Gretna, Louisville, Manley, Murdock, Murray, Nehawka, Papillion LaVista, Plattsmouth, Springfield, and Weeping Water.
“We are pleased to provide funding to these nonprofit organizations to assist them in continuing their much-needed programs and services in the communities we serve in Cass and Sarpy counties, particularly during these challenging times,” said Foundation Executive Director Tonee Gay.

The mission of Midlands Community Foundation is to benefit the diverse needs of the Sarpy and Cass county communities by providing financial support, involvement, and service.
