United Way of the Midlands’ President & CEO Shawna Forsberg Selected for National United Way Leadership Council
Shawna Forsberg, president and CEO of United Way of the Midlands, has been appointed to the National Professional Council (NPC) of United Ways, a select group of chief executive officers from across the country that focuses on identifying common challenges and solutions for the community-based member non-profits.
Forsberg was selected because of her outstanding leadership in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan community and within the United Way network. She will join a handful of local United Way executives who are helping advise United Way Worldwide in setting strategy and direction for nearly 1,200 United Ways across the United States.
Forsberg was named to lead the Omaha organization in March 2015, after serving as interim president since July 2014. Forsberg joined the organization as senior vice president of marketing in 2013. She brought with her more than 15 years of marketing and communications leadership experience in nonprofit and corporate environments, including roles at Omaha’s Durham Museum and ConAgra Foods. Forsberg received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and a Master of Business Administration from Sam Houston State University.
Forsberg will serve a two-year term beginning January 1, 2016 and ending December 31, 2017. For more information about United Way of the Midlands, please visit www.UnitedWayMidlands.org.
