Scouting America (scouting.org) will host its annual luncheon, Big Give, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at no charge, but guests are encouraged to donate or become a sponsor. CHI Omaha is Big Give’s main location, with keynote Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger live onstage. Register online at BSABigGive.org.
The purpose of the Big Give Day luncheon is to raise funds for local Scouts in the Mid–America Council, which serves 102 counties across Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. “Ultimately, our goal is to serve more kids,” said CEO & Scout Executive Chris Mehaffey. “We’ll rely on technology for promotion, while allowing room for vital interactive activities and outdoor engagement that heightens self-esteem and sound decision-making.”
Scouting America, formerly Boy Scouts of America, was founded in 1910 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All proceeds collected for the Big Give Campaign directly benefit local Scouts in the Mid-America Council, and Big Give donations are accepted continuously.
