September is National Recovery Month, a time to recognize that recovery is possible and to celebrate the strength, resilience and hope demonstrated every day by women overcoming substance use disorders.

This year, Santa Monica House (santamonicahouse.org) is proud to host a variety of Recovery Month activities, all flamingo-themed under the name “Recovery Takes Flight.” Throughout September, clients, staff, alumni and community supporters will come together for educational events, wellness activities, creative expression opportunities and celebrations of recovery milestones.

For more than 50 years, Santa Monica House has provided a safe and supportive environment where women can build healthy, independent lives. Through residential treatment, recovery support services and community partnerships, the organization continues to empower women as they navigate their recovery journeys and reconnect with their families and communities.

Recovery Month serves as a reminder that treatment works, recovery happens and no one has to walk the path alone. Santa Monica House invites the community to join in celebrating recovery, reducing stigma and supporting individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.
