SALUTE to VETERANS Dinner Draws Large Crowd to La Vista Conference Center
La Vista Community Foundation (LVCF) (www.lavistacommunityfoundation.com) held the eighth annual SALUTE to VETERANS Dinner on Thursday, November 8 at the Embassy Suites/La Vista Conference Center. More than 700 attendees gathered to celebrate and honor those who serve and protect our country.
“Our La Vista community celebrates a spirit of gratitude for our Veterans and their families at this regional event,” explained LVCF Executive Director John Yochum. The featured speaker at the dinner was Major General Jon A. Jensen who reminded us to “Reach out and thank all who have served our great country, in every generation.” Also speaking at the dinner was Congressman Don Bacon, as well as Governor Pete Ricketts.
The LVCF introduced a special “Salute to Veterans Honoree” presentation this year and recognized Robert Holtz, one of the last living members of the Tuskegee Airmen, 477th Bombardment Group in the United States Army Air Corps, a predecessor of the U.S. Air Force.
