The Royal Family Kids’ Camp Omaha is pleased to announce they will hold a Happy Camper Run fundraiser at Lake Zorinsky on Saturday, June 23rd.  This benefit run offers a 5K race and a 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk.  After-race refreshments, an awards ceremony and a Kids’ Carnival will make it a fun morning for the whole family.

Royal Family Kids’ Camp Omaha began in 2004 as a one-week summer camp serving abused and neglected children, ages 7-11.  As of 2012, it has grown to also provide Teen Reach Adventure Camp for 12-15 year olds from the foster care system as well as year-round mentoring relationships for children and youth who attend the camps.  Seeking to make a long-term impact on their lives, children are invited to attend consecutive years of camp.  Each of the programs are 100% volunteer staffed and are provided at no charge to the children, their foster families, nor the foster care system.  The volunteers choose to give up their own vacation time in exchange for days of deep relational connections with hurting children because they have found it to be a rewarding and life-changing experience both for the kids and for themselves.

The Royal Family Kids’ Camp Omaha team works year-round to raise funds for the camps and mentoring program so that the kids can attend free of charge.
