Project Harmony to Host Luncheon on Ending Child Abuse
Join Project Harmony (ProjectHarmony.com) on Wednesday, April 3 at 11:30 a.m. at the CHI Health Center Downtown Omaha for their Speaking of Children luncheon. Keynote speaker Sasha Joseph Neulinger will share his story about surviving multigenerational child sexual abuse.
At just four years old, Sasha endured abuse from three separate family members over a four-year period. He lived a life framed by film—his father a filmmaker and Sasha an actor from a young age. Sasha’s presentation covers the abuse, family dynamics, childhood therapy, the prosecution process, and how he got to where he currently is today. Now a filmmaker himself, Sasha recently completed his first feature length documentary, Rewind, which is an autobiographical film about his life surviving multigenerational child sexual abuse.
Did you know a report of child abuse is made every 10 seconds? Child abuse is a serious problem with lasting effects on each person it touches. It affects boys and girls of all ages, in all types of families. It happens in big cities, in small towns, and in rural areas. The cycle of abuse does not have to continue, though. Project Harmony believes there is hope and they are determined to fight child abuse through the resources and educational opportunities they offer. Ten seconds might not seem like a lot of time, but it’s enough time to be someone in the life of a child. Every second counts.
