Project Harmony (projectharmony.com) is proud to join in recognizing National Missing Children’s Day on May 25. This annual observance not only sheds light on the issue but also pays tribute to the dedicated professionals nationwide working tirelessly to protect children.
As a Child Advocacy Center committed to addressing the pervasive issues of exploitation, sex trafficking and other forms of victimization faced by our most vulnerable youth, Project Harmony plays a vital role. Through our Missing Youth Services and Anti-Trafficking program, law enforcement agencies have the option to bring runaways to Project Harmony or refer their families to us. Our dedicated staff review police reports and proactively reach out to families in need of assistance. Upon contact, our team engages with the young person and their family to devise a comprehensive intervention plan, which includes tailored individual and group therapy sessions.
Our overarching goal is to shift perceptions surrounding runaway youth, moving beyond simplistic labels and instead understanding the underlying reasons for their actions. We strive to uncover what drives them to leave home or seek refuge elsewhere. For families, Project Harmony serves as a critical support system that can make all the difference in preventing future runaways. If you are a caregiver or concerned individual of a runaway youth in Nebraska, we urge you to report them missing to your local police department and the Child Abuse Hotline at 1 (800) 652-1999. Additionally, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Project Harmony at (402) 595-1326 for access to our comprehensive support services. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of our youth and ensure their safety and well-being.
