Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up safe, supported and free from exploitation. That’s the driving force behind Omaha Against Traffick, a new community-wide awareness campaign led by Project Harmony (projectharmony.com) in partnership with more than 60 organizations across the Omaha metro.
Child sex trafficking is happening in communities across the country, including our own. While many people believe it only occurs somewhere else, traffickers often target vulnerable youth through relationships, social media and other forms of manipulation. Recognizing the signs and knowing how to respond can make all the difference.
Omaha Against Traffick is part of Project Harmony’s comprehensive initiative to prevent exploitation before it happens, support survivors on their path to healing and strengthen collaboration among law enforcement, service providers, schools, businesses and community members. By bringing partners together around a shared mission, the campaign aims to increase awareness, encourage conversations and empower individuals to take action when something doesn’t seem right.
The message is simple: protecting children is a shared responsibility. Whether you’re a parent, educator, healthcare professional, business owner or concerned neighbor, you have a role to play in creating a safer community.
Learn how to recognize the warning signs, access educational resources and become part of the solution by visiting Omaha Against Traffick. Together, we can help prevent child exploitation, support survivors and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
