Outlook Nebraska, Inc. to Host Golf Academy for Blind Adults, Children

A group of nearly a dozen blind and visually impaired individuals will participate in the Outlook Nebraska, Inc. (ONI: www.outlooknebraska.org) Blind Golfer Academy. The event will be held at Indian Creek Golf Course, 3825 N. 202nd Street in Omaha, on Thursday, June 9th from 8:15 am- 12:30 pm.

During the Blind Golf Academy, blind and visually impaired youth and adults will receive golf instruction from golf professionals. Participants will learn a variety of golf skills, including driving, chipping and putting techniques. The group will then use those skills to compete for prizes.

ONI is a nonprofit dedicated empowering the blind and visually impaired to build confidence in their capabilities and achieve their life goals through employment, workplace training, and recreational and cultural opportunities.

The Blind Golfer Academy will be held in conjunction with the 13th Annual Outlook Nebraska Tee it up for Sight Golf Tournament, which will start earlier in the day at noon. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Camp Abilities Nebraska, a week-long residential sports camp for youth ages 9 to 19 who are blind, visually impaired or deaf-blind. Camp Abilities Nebraska is co-sponsored by ONI and Boys Town National Research Hospital.
