Outlook Enrichment (outlooken.org) will welcome community members to its annual Vision Beyond Sight gala on November 6. This year’s theme, Illuminating Brilliance, honors the resilience and impact of the clients, associates and volunteers whose voices and impact shape the blind and low-vision community. While registration for the gala has closed, supporters can still make an impact by getting involved with Outlook Enrichment, because no one has to face vision loss alone.

The gala coincides with National Diabetes Month, a timely reminder of the importance of eye health. Diabetic retinopathy is a condition that occurs when high blood sugar damages blood vessels in the retina. Vision loss exists on a spectrum, ranging from complete blindness with no light perception to low vision or reliance on corrective lenses. No matter where someone falls on that spectrum, protecting eye health is crucial for overall well-being.

One of the most effective ways to safeguard vision is through annual comprehensive eye exams. By prioritizing eye health and supporting initiatives like Vision Beyond Sight, community members can help Outlook Enrichment ensure a stronger future for all.
