Outlook Enrichment’s (outlooken.org/oe) recent annual Tee It Up Fore Sight golf tournament was a hole-in-one! Celebrating its 22nd year with a sold-out field of golfers, the tournament brought together friendly competition, meaningful connections and a shared commitment to empowering people who are blind or have low vision.
Among this year’s golf tourney participants were four golfers who are legally blind or have low vision. Outlook Enrichment associate Ross Pollpeter and Outlook Nebraska associate Marisa Ethofer were joined by Outlook Enrichment clients Brad Lapointe and Anna Weber (who drives from Missouri to get help at Outlook Enrichment). They prepared for the tournament since January through Outlook’s Stanley M. Truhlsen, Jr. Blind Golfers Clinic. Hosted at Outlook Enrichment, the clinic gives golfers who are blind or have low vision the opportunity to build golfing skills and community. The clinic will resume in the fall with details to follow.
Join Outlook Enrichment on August 23 at the fun Bags and Brews Cornhole Fundraising Tournament. Proceeds support Outlook Enrichment and help cover the cost of programs and services that create opportunities for Outlook’s clients.
To kick off the cornhole tournament, attendees will take part in a complimentary “blind toss” round while wearing sleep shades or vision simulation goggles. The experience offers a meaningful glimpse into the daily experiences of Outlook’s clients and associates who are blind or have low vision.
