Outlook Enrichment Recognizes National Disability Employment Awareness Month

Outlook Enrichment (www.outlooken.org), a nonprofit providing resources and support to those with vision loss so they can remain independent, is collaborating with its sister entities to raise awareness of the contributions of employees with disabilities during October. October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and this year’s theme is “America’s Recovery by Inclusion.”

Throughout October, Outlook Enrichment, Outlook Business Solutions, and Outlook Nebraska will host webinars and share examples of successful disabled employees who thrive with needed accommodations and training. Together, these organizations hope to reduce the 70% unemployment rate for blind Americans.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are all important in the workplace. By making an effort to hire disabled employees, businesses can ensure their inclusive efforts truly include everyone. Some employees with vision loss might need accommodations such as colored paper, locator dots to quickly find items, or a screen magnification program. Outlook Enrichment can work with your business to equip your visually impaired employees to be successful at work.
