Open Door Mission Encourages Community Members to Make Hope Totes for Homeless

The Open Door Mission (www.opendoormission.org) is looking for community members to help put together Hope Totes for homeless men, women, and children. A Hope Tote is a bag filled with personal care items, such as shampoo, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, deodorant, razors, non-alcoholic cough medicines, feminine products, brushes/combs, etc. Donations and assistance such as these can give our homeless neighbors hope for new life.

Open Door Mission encourages individuals, families, businesses, and groups to fill Hope Tote bags with personal care products and bring them to the Mission (2828 N. 23rd St. E) anytime between January and April. There is also a drop-off location in Elkhorn, located at 1620 N. 203rd St.

Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission that meets the needs of individuals and families while inspiring HOPE for lasting change.  Each day, Open Door Mission’s campus offers 816 safe shelter beds to homeless men, women, and children; serves over 2,100 hot, nutritious meals; and provides preventative measures to more than 1,082 people living in poverty.
