Open Door Mission Encourages Businesses and Groups to Host Project Santa Toy Drives

Open Door Mission’s (www.opendoormission.org) Project Santa Toy Dive provides toys to boys and girls in need so that they will have gifts for Christmas this year. The Mission expects the number of toys needed to be greater this year than in the past, so they are encouraging businesses, groups, individuals, and families to host toy drives. Suggested items to collect include toddler toys, art sets for all ages, small and medium Lego sets, all kinds of sports balls, board games and puzzles, dolls of all kinds, $10 gift cards for Walmart and Target, Play-Doh sets, cars (all sizes, especially Matchbox and Hot Wheels sets), makeup kits, shaving kits, and ear buds for teens.

Open Door Mission is also publishing their Christmas volunteer opportunities on their website starting November 4. People who are looking for ways to give back this holiday season will have the option to serve meals, help in the Toy & Joy Shop, and so much more!

Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission that meets the needs of individuals and families while inspiring HOPE for lasting change. Each day, Open Door Mission’s campus offers 917 safe shelter beds to homeless men, women, and children; serves over 3,500 nutritious meals; and provides preventative measures to more than 1,000 people living in poverty. For more information and to access volunteer opportunities when they are posted, visit www.opendoormission.org.
