Open Door Mission Celebrates Success of New Life Recovery Program

Open Door Mission (www.opendoormission.org) is celebrating the impact of their New Life Recovery program by sharing recovery success stories on their website. The program, which offers tools and skills needed to become self-reliant and free from compulsive behaviors and addictions, has touched the lives of many people who turned to Open Door Mission in their time of crisis. Christina is one of these people.

Christina is a graduate of the New Life Recovery program who continues to find relief from a debilitating drug addiction after having participated in the program and getting honest with others about the struggles she was having. At age 16, Christina began to rebel by dropping out of school, hanging out with the wrong crowd, and using drugs. She had a daughter at the age of 20. Despite attempts to get sober, Christina kept falling back into her addiction. She rotated staying with family members and friends until they kicked her out. Her mom took her to Open Door Mission where she found hope and freedom through New Life Recovery’s Bible-based, 12-step residential program. Since graduating from the program, Christina has begun working full-time as a Lydia House Family Support Worker for the Mission, helping others recover as she has.

Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission founded in 1954 committed to providing men, women, and families with the tools needed to become self-sufficient community members, breaking the cycle of homelessness, poverty, and addition.
