Open Door Mission (opendoormission.org) empowers thousands to have Thanksgiving in their own homes, but needs help from the community to do that. From Nov. 7 to 9, Open Door Mission is asking for donations for Turkey ‘n’ Fixin’s at Hy-Vee stores.
For every $10 fixin’ bag sold at HyVee that weekend, FNBO will donate $5 toward turkeys and all the fixin’s. ODM staff and volunteers will be in stores Friday, Nov 7, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., so stop by to make a donation and say hello. The Turkey n Fixins program is part of Open Door Mission’s homeless prevention resources, which empowers families to have Thanksgiving in their own homes.
Each day, Open Door Mission serves 5,366 meals to men, women, and families experiencing hunger. Meeting the basic needs of people who are hurting and experiencing hunger opens the door to empowering individuals to create lasting change.
