ONI Earns 2016 Employment Growth Award From National Industries for the Blind

The National Industries for the Blind (NIB) has recognized Outlook Nebraska, Inc. (ONI; outlooknebraska.org) for increasing employment opportunities for the blind with the 2016 Employment Growth Award. The award recognizes Outlook Nebraska’s efforts to increase employment retention, growth and upward mobility for people who are blind.

“As a nonprofit, our founding purpose was to address the 70 percent unemployment rate among blind Americans,” Outlook Nebraska CEO Eric Stueckrath said. “We are proud to provide jobs for our visually impaired neighbors and produce a quality product at a fair market price for our customers. We have helped over 200 visually impaired people provide for their families. You can help us continue to grow by purchasing our janitorial products for your business.

Outlook Nebraska is one of three NIB-associated agencies nationally receiving this award. We are being recognized for significant growth in 2016. Outlook employed 18 percent more visually impaired associates in 2016 and achieved a six percent increase in overall product sales.

“It is an honor for me to recognize Outlook Nebraska with an Employment Growth Award for 2016,” said Kevin Lynch, president and CEO of NIB. “Outlook continues to lead the way in creating employment and high-growth career opportunities for people who are blind.”
