Omaha’s youngest entrepreneurs now have a citywide platform to turn their ideas into real businesses. Lemonade Day Omaha (local.lemonadeday.org/omaha) celebrated its inaugural launch Oct. 2 – 4, bringing free, experiential entrepreneurship education to students in grades K through 12 across the metro.

Omaha is one of only four Lemonade Day National Flagship Cities, joining Dallas, Houston and Denver. Mayor John Ewing Jr. recognized the milestone, presenting an official proclamation during a ribbon cutting at Field Club of Omaha.

Through Lemonade Day, kids set goals, write a business plan, find an investor and run their own business, learning to earn, save, spend and share their profits along the way. A lemonade stand is the starting point, but young people are encouraged to build whatever venture they can imagine.

The launch was made possible by founding funders Jim and Susan Clifton and the C.L. Werner Foundation. As a founding champion of All In Omaha, Lemonade Day connects youth entrepreneurship to the city’s workforce and economic opportunity goals.

In 2027, Lemonade Day Omaha will offer programming throughout the year, anchored by three citywide entrepreneurship events.

Businesses and organizations can get involved as sponsors, mentors and partners at local.lemonadeday.org/omaha or (402) 258-0306. Follow Lemonade Day Omaha on Facebook and Instagram.
