Nebraska Statewide Arboretum Offers Inspiration, Resources for Gardeners
The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum (plantnebraska.org) plants Nebraska for healthy people, vibrant communities and a resilient environment. Their monthly columns, website resources, lists of recommended plants and events that include sales of primarily native plants, garden tours and workshops help Midwest gardeners improve their home and community landscapes. They encourage plants and landscapes that are beautiful and beneficial for us all as well as for pollinators, other wildlife, and the larger environment.
In early June, the Arboretum coordinates, offers and promotes statewide Wildflower Week events. Nebraska Wildflower Week, June 1-11, is an annual celebration of wildflowers and native plants in the wild and in planted landscapes. Events include a range of family-friendly tours, talks, hands-on activities, workshops, etc. More information about Wildflower events will be posted online at plantnebraska.org/wildflower-week.
