Nebraska Folklife (nebraskafolklife.org) invites everyone to a vibrant cultural experience at thier annual Dia De Los Muertos celebration and their final 20th anniversary event for the year, held at the Auld Pavilion in Lincoln on November 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This event is a testament to Nebraska Folklife’s commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of music, folk traditions and cultural significance embedded in Dia De Los Muertos.
Dia De Los Muertos promises a day filled with cultural immersions and entertainment, while bringing members of our community together. Join Nebraska Folklife in honoring and celebrating the lives of departed loved ones through a lineup of performances featuring renowned groups such as Mariachi Zapata, Sangre Azteca, Danza Tlacololeros De Schuyler and more. People can engage with multiple booths, offering glimpses at some Dia De Los Muertos traditions, and indulge in crafts that reflect the artistry of this event. Nebraska Folklife will have food vendors that will complement the festive atmosphere.
