NCBB Hometown Heroes Blood Drive Raises Flood Relief Funds
Local nonprofit, Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB; ncbb.org), invites the Greater Omaha area businesses, organizations, and blood donors to be Hometown Heroes this summer. The Hometown Heroes program awards funds to communities outside of the Omaha city limits who host blood drives. Funds are earned through blood donations at Hometown Heroes blood drives, and may be used for a community or organizational project.
Fremont First United Methodist Church raised money to support Nebraska flood relief by sponsoring a Fremont Hometown Heroes Blood Drive in July. The funds raised at this drive will help rebuild damaged homes and provide food, clothing, and household necessities to those impacted by flooding.
Hometown Heroes runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day, to encourage blood donations during the summer months when it can be difficult to maintain a stable blood supply. You and your business can join the Hometown Heroes program or help by simply donating blood at a Hometown Heroes drive this summer.
