Imagine what life would be like always on the outside looking in, never feeling included in daily activities, fun events or getting to live the life of which one dreamed? This is what Mosaic (mosaicinfo.org) strives to combat each and every day for the individuals in their services who live with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Mosaic in Omaha’s Inclusion Matters Picnic, held annually in May at Carol Joy Holling Camp in Ashland, provides ways for those with diverse needs to feel included and enjoy the outdoors, along with many other fun activities. Over 200 attendees at this year’s picnic enjoyed a beautiful day, featuring music by DJ Duke, a bunny mobile petting zoo from Scatter Joy Acres, a watercolor craft project and everyone’s favorite–pieing the leadership staff with whipped cream.
Mosaic in Omaha also wishes to thank their volunteers from the Kiwanis Club of Omaha and Clarkson College, of whom helped make the event a success.
