Midlands Community Foundation has awarded grants totaling $72,830 to 14 non-profit organizations serving Sarpy and Cass counties including: Alegent Health Midlands Hospital – Health Fair – $7,000; ALS in the Heartland – $2,500; Angels Among Us – $5,000; Cass County CASA – $7,750; Food Bank for the Heartland – $10,000; HELP Adult Services – $4,500; Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly – $3,000; Papillion Area Arts Network – $4,000; Papillion-LaVista Community Theatre – $2,500; Papillion-LaVista Schools Foundation – $4,000; Patriotic Productions, LLC – $6,500; Salvation Army Walk for Warmth – $5,000; University of Nebraska-Omaha Aim for the Stars – $3,840; Youth Emergency Services – $7,240.

This is the second of two grant distributions for Midlands Community Foundation’s fiscal year.  The next grant distribution will be in Fall 2012.  Through its grants program, Midlands Community Foundation places an emphasis on prevention and education.  The Foundation has a strong commitment toward programs benefiting health, art, culture, community, economic development, education, and human services.  Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded gifts totaling millions of dollars.
