MICAH House Requests Canned Fruit

MICAH House (www.themicahhouse.org), a homeless shelter for families and women, needs your help! On average, it takes 25 cans of fruit to provide one meal at MICAH House. Unfortunately, over the winter, the pantry shelves have become bare and the current supply of canned fruit is very low.

Each day, MICAH House provides three meals and two snacks to the dozens of individuals seeking help and services when they have nowhere else to turn. In total, MICAH House served more than 26,000 meals to families and women in need last year. With each of these meals, MICAH House provides a fruit and vegetable option—an important part of a nutritious and well-balanced meal.

MICAH House is asking for your help to stock the pantry! Organize a personal or company-wide donation drive and collect canned fruit to provide healthy options for homeless children, families, and women. Contact Rachel Morehead with questions at rachelm@themicahhouse.org about this.

MICAH House, founded in 1986, is an emergency family homeless shelter that provides shelter and support services to hundreds of children and adults annually. Through a network of services, MICAH House provides support and security to individuals who are uncertain about their future and are worried for the safety and well-being of their children. Families and single women who enter MICAH House are provided an array of services including nutritious meals, counseling resources, an on-site health clinic, and a trauma-informed (BUDDY) play program.
