In June, MICAH House (www.themicahhouse.org) broke ground on the Florence M. Lakin Child Development Center. This 12,000-square-foot center, located next to MICAH House, will provide families with immediate access to safe, affordable and trauma-informed childcare.

Construction on the center is moving along at a great pace, with a completion estimate of June 2024. The center will provide care for up to 70 children, with two-thirds of the spaces reserved for MICAH House clients and one-third open to the community.

The option for safe, affordable childcare will be a game changer for families. The center will not only provide beneficial care for children, but also fill the gaps in children’s developmental delays while parents have an opportunity to work towards financial stability, wellness and housing.

MICAH House needs your help crossing the finish line. With a generous $1 million matching grant, MICAH House is near the goal. Donations will be matched dollar for dollar.
