“Come Watch the Feathers Fly” is the theme of the 24th Annual Merrymakers Roast on Thursday, November 13th at the Embassy Suites La Vista Conference Center. Cyndy Peacock, President and CEO of the Methodist Hospital Foundation, is this years’ “honoree.” Joyce Clare Davis will be doing double duty, serving both as a roaster and emcee of the evening with roasters Jack and Stephanie Koraleski and Lyn Ziegenbein. Their goal: to provide a humorous ribbing of Cyndy Peacock. As usual, it’s always in fun, but not fun for all.
The Roast is the main fundraiser for the Merrymakers Association. Now in its 28th year, the area non-profit has grown significantly in the least 2-3 years throughout Nebraska and Iowa. The event is open to the public, and sponsorships are available. Individual ticket prices are $200. This year, we are also introducing a special under-40 price of $75.
Merrymakers now provides professional music for seniors in 123 facilities in Nebraska, Omaha/Council Bluffs, and Central Iowa. Last year the Merrymakers musicians gave more than 1400 performances to an often overlooked segment of our population-our seniors. The event will also be celebrating Kim Eames as Merrymakers 2014 performer of the year, and will showcase the musical talents of the Merrymakers performers during the cocktail hour
