Malone Community Center Announces Men of Standards Program
The Malone Community Center (www.malonecenter.org) has announced a new program called Men of Standards to provide support and encouragement to men and fathers in the Lincoln community. The Men of Standards program began in July of this year in order to conquer the challenges that men and fathers face in today’s society. The program features fatherhood services, entrepreneurship options, education options and assistance, employment options, financial literacy and credit education, table talks with local leaders, round table therapy with an on-site therapist, and a community justice hub for fathers. The Men of Standards program meets on the first Monday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The Malone Center started in 1955 as a community center in the midst of the civil rights era as a platform for creating racial and socioeconomic equality. The league founders were determined to improve social and economic conditions and increase understanding between all races in order to create a better community. For decades, Malone has served neighboring families, youth, seniors, and the Lincoln community with inclusive, social, cultural, educational, employment, and welfare services.
