Every year, Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) holds its Faith in Action event to honor those whose actions demonstrate their commitment to faith-based values and principles.  For 2014 Faith in Action, which was held on September 14 at The Club at Indian Creek, LFS focused on mental wellness and those who support the journey to recovery.  Over 200 people attended, and although not a fundraiser, LFS received $44,000 in honoraria and sponsorships.

The premier sponsor for the evening was Immanuel. LFS President and CEO Ruth Henrichs presented honors for the Community Partner of the Year to OPD, Volunteers of the Year to Bill and Evonne Williams, and the Douglas E. Parrott Faith in Action Award to Deryl and Ramona Hamman.  LFS also presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to RoxAnne Koenig, only the second LFS employee to receive the honor.

The vision of Lutheran Family Services is “Safety, Hope and Well-Being for All People.”  This year’s Faith in Action event highlighted the largest area of human care services at LFS: Behavioral Health.  Behavioral Health services at LFS are available across the spectrum of available services, including programs for children and refugees.  Visit www.LFSneb.org or call (402) 978-5646 for more information about Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS).
